Vietnam Veterans Encouraged to Visit Service Office on Thursday

March 27, 2019

Local Veterans of the Vietnam War, which officially ended 44 years ago next month, are encouraged to visit the Jefferson County Veterans Service office in Madison on Thursday, March 29th, 2019 to be recognized and thanked for their services.

March 29th is nationally recognized as the Vietnam War Veterans Day.

Vietnam Veterans Day was first proclaimed in 2012 and National Vietnam War Veterans Day was officially recognized in 2017.

Veterans of that 20 year conflict were heroes and were generally not given due thanks when they initially returned home all those years ago, so to honor their local Vietnam Veterans, the Veteran Service Office is asking that all Vietnam Vets come in, see what benefits are available to them and enjoy free pastries, cookies, juice, coffee, water and more.

Stop by anytime from 9:00AM to 12:00PM if this applies to you and if you know of someone, be sure to let them know so they can be thanked in person.
