According to the Brooksburg/Milton Township Fire & Rescue Department, an emergency response on Saturday to a car crash resulted in three injuries.
On Saturday August 25th, just before 2 pm, first responders reported to Sandy Beach on East State Rd 56 for a 2 vehicle Motor Vehicle Accident with injuries.
The first Milton TWP fire officer arrived on scene about 2 minutes later to find a head-on collision (Sport Utility Vehicle vs small sedan) and 3 people injured.
One vehicle also appeared to be smoking.
Engine 14 and Brush Truck 14 responded along with King’s Daughters’ Emergency Medical Services and the Jefferson County Sherriff’s Department.
The three victims were removed from the vehicles and placed on backboards and transported to KDH’s Emergency Room.
An elderly woman who was driving the sedan suffered a broken ankle and chest injuries and the injured occupants of the SUV suffered mild to moderate injuries.
The Fire Department gave Special thanks on Facebook to two off-duty firefighters from the Moorefield and Wayne TWP fire departments who were in the area and assisted with the care of the victims at the scene.
The road was shut down for over an hour due to the crash.
