Ripley County-This morning, just after midnight, the Indiana State Police responded to a shooting that occurred near Milan, Indiana that resulted in the death of a Sunman man.
At approximately 12:02 a.m., the Indiana State Police and Ripley County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a shooting that took place at 7802 N. State Road 101, Milan, IN. Trooper Nicholas Albrecht soon arrived on scene and found Ronald L. Mounts, age 50, Sunman, Indiana deceased inside the residence after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
Another male, who was believed to be the shooter, was detained and questioned by state police detectives before being released. At this time, the shooter’s identity will not be released, pending further investigation. The shooter’s identity will be released if an arrest is made in this case.
The victim’s family has been notified.
