The Indiana Department of Transportation has now officially closed State Road 7 between C.R. 1000 North and South Main Street at Dupont as of July 10th as part of a $594,856 2-bridge project.
The closure is expected to last for 30 days, or about a month.
Milestone, the state’s contractor, is removing an existing drainage structure and replacing it with an 11-foot reinforced concrete culvert measuring 32 feet side-to-side.
A second State Road 7 structure—located 7.15 miles north of S.R. 250 just south of the Jennings County line—will be replaced in August.
Removal and replacement of the S.R. 7 bridge over Bear Creek will also require a 30-day closure.
The new bridge will measure 20½ feet in length and 32 feet side to side.
