May 3, 2016, at approximately 3:27 PM the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department responded to a report of a gunshot victim on W. Henry Road in Deputy, Indiana. Officers located the adult male victim who sustained a single gunshot wound to the lower extremity of his body. The victim was flown from the scene to a Louisville area hospital with what appeared to be non life threatening injuries. Indiana State Police Crime Scene Technician Merit Toomey is assisting Jefferson County Sheriff Detectives Yancy Denning and Tim Armstrong with this ongoing investigation.
