On Wednesday August 8^th Shawe and Pope John celebrated the first day back to school for the students.

“There was a lot of excitement in the air and the classrooms and hallways were buzzing with excitement from the teachers and the students. There is always something special about the first day of the new school year.  The students and teachers are always excited to come back to school,” said President of Shawe and Pope John Phil Kahn.

Shawe and Pope John both had increases in the number of students from last year and the teachers are all ready for the students in the classroom.

The celebration began on August 6^th with a school wide Open House where the students could walk around to their classrooms and meet their teachers.

The School commission pitched in by cooking over 400 hotdogs for all of the students and parents who came to check out the campus.

The schools will host their Annual Pool Party on August 12^th from 6-8 pm at Crystal Beach Pool.

This is usually the party at the end of the school year, but it was postponed due to rain in the spring.
