Lilyannah Adams
Lilyannah Marie Grace Adams, newborn, died Friday, June 26, 2020, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati.
She was born prematurely at Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati on Tuesday, June 23, to Justin Ray Adams and Lacey Marie Walton of Florence, Indiana.
Survivors include her parents; her brothers, Braylen Joseph Walton and Wesley Eugene Edward Walton, both of Florence; her maternal grandmother, Cathy Jo Edwards of Carrollton, Kentucky; her maternal grandfather, Joseph Edward Walton of Rising Sun, Indiana; her paternal grandparents, Marchita and James Hutchinson of Tampa, Florida; her paternal-grandmother, Tammie Adams of Ocala, Florida; her maternal great grandmothers, Patricia Walton of Rising Sun, and Donna Johnson of Carrollton; and her aunts and uncles, great aunts and great uncles, cousins and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great grandfathers, Harry E. Walton Jr. and Anthony Glenn “Tony” Edwards; her maternal great-great-grandparents, Harry E. Walton Sr. and Norma Walton, Arthur G. and Mary E. Edwards and Dorothy and Vernon LaVelle and her paternal great-great grandparents, Irene and George Adams.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Aberdeen, Indiana. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Betty Copeland
Betty M. Bishop Copeland, of Canaan, Indiana, died Friday, June 26, 2020, at her home in Canaan.
She was born in Jefferson County, Indiana, to Alois and Helyn Hamilton Bishop. She was a 1947 graduate of Central High School on Rykers Ridge in Jefferson County. She resided nearly all of her life in Canaan and was a member of the Indian-Kentuck Baptist Church where she had served as clerk. She was employed early in life as a secretary at the Indiana-Kentucky Electric Corporation in Madison but became a homemaker after marrying D. LaVant Copeland in 1953 and having a daughter. Later in life she worked at Broadway Antique Mall, where she used her knowledge of history and antiques to help customers and booth operators. She also servinged as a docent at the Lanier Mansion Historic Site for as long as her health permitted. She was devoted to the Canaan community, serving as a founding member and board member of the Canaan Restoration Council, Canaan Fall Festival, Canaan Parade and the Canaan Cemetery Association. She was a long-time member of the Eastern Star, now with the Hanover Chapter No. 525. She enjoyed growing flowers, history, her love for antiques and being with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Nanci Copeland Liles of Canaan; and a niece, her great nephews and great nieces, cousins and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 40 years on Dec. 7, 1993.
Private graveside services will be held at the Canaan Cemetery in Canaan with internment to follow. Private visitation at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison, Indiana, will precede a private procession to the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Canaan Cemetery. Trisha Neel
Teresa L. “Trisha” Hicks Edens Neel, 67, of Milton, Kentucky, died Saturday, June 27, 2020, at the Baptist Health Louisville in Louisville.
She was born June 19, 1953, in Carrollton, Kentucky, to Barney and Millie Kate Hearne Hicks. She was raised in Carroll County, attended school there and was of the Baptist faith. She married Darrell Edens Sr. and they had three sons. She worked early in life for Magnavox in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and for Brunswick in Eminence, Kentucky, in the sewing department. She then married Julian Neel and they had a daughter, later moving to Bluefield, Virginia, where she worked as a dispatcher. In 1991 she moved to Trimble County and resided there the rest of her life. She was a member of the AKC Dog Breeders Association and raised German Shepherds, Pomeranians, Poodles, Pugs and Chihuahua puppies. She also enjoyed training dogs and loved her dog, CoCo. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, dancing, singing, being with her family and playing cards with her Bunco group.
Survivors include her sons, Leslie Darrell Edens Jr. of Locust, Kentucky, Stacey Allen Edens of Carrollton and Dusty J. Edens of Milton; a daughter, Julia A. Neel of Bedford, Kentucky; her brother, Lindsay Foster Hicks of Carrollton; her sisters, Daisy Hicks West of Carrollton, Janice Hicks Smith of Bedford and Eunice Isabell Hicks Fisher; and seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, David Garvey; her infant daughter; a sister, Florence Bibb; a brother, Benjamin Kelly Hicks, a half brother, Frank A. Skinner, and a nephew and two nieces.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, in the Owenton Cemetery in Owenton, Kentucky. Friends may visit from 4 p.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home

Naomi Wainscott
Naomi Ruth Wainscott, 86, of Carrollton, Kentucky, died Friday, June 26, 2020, at her home in Carrollton.
She was born Oct. 26, 1933, in Carroll County, Kentucky, to Herbert Courtney and Hattie B. Wheeler Courtney. She had worked all of her life including at the Teledyne Wirz factory in Carrollton, Dairy Queen, Vanity Fair and most recently North Key in Carrollton. She had delivered newspapers for The Madison Courier and Courier-Journal for many years and was a member of the Relevant Church in Carrollton.
Survived include her daughter, Charlene Terrell of Carrollton; her son, Duane “Dewey” Wainscott of Carrollton, a sister, Dorothy Sharon of Worthville, Kentucky; and four grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles B. Wainscott; a sister, Bessie Lucas; and three brothers, Eunice Lee Courtney, Cecil Norman Courtney and Herbert Eugene Courtney.
Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, at the Relevant Church in Carrollton. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at the Relevant Church.

Nancy Hoard
Nancy Lynn Ford Hoard, 72, of Pendleton, Kentucky, died Friday, June 26, 2020, at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort, Kentucky.
She was born on Aug. 9, 1947, in Carroll County, Kentucky, to Harvey Ford and Dorothy Lee Garrett Ford. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and housewife, helping raise her large family. She was a member of the English Baptist Church. She enjoyed making crafts and sewing and tending to her garden.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Wayne Hoard, of Pendleton; four sons, Dennis Pyles of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Adam Hoard of Pendleton, Joshua Hoard of Louisville and Travis Hoard of Bedford, Kentucky; five daughters, Kimberly Mullikin of Milton, Kentucky, Cristi Rice of Pendleton, Jeni Bradburn of Michigan, Jody Hoard of Carrollton, and Niki Terry; two sisters, Linda Riddle and Bonnie Smith, both of Bedford; and 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandchild and two great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the English Cemetery near Carrollton.

Priscilla Parker
Priscilla Lane Owens Parker, 74, of Madison, Indiana, died Thursday, June 25, 2020, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.
She was born Sept. 1, 1945, in Madison, to Harry C. and Ollie Elizabeth Richards Owens. She lived most of her life in Jefferson County except for three years spent in Miami, Florida. She was married to Alex Parks 13 years and had four children. She attended the Salvation Army Church. She later married Earl G. “Bud” Parker. She worked as a farm laborer for the Burkhardt family in Milton, Kentucky, for 25 years, loved playing bingo, socializing with her family and friends. She was cared for by her sister, Louise, the past three years.
Survivors include husband of 43 years, Earl G. “Bud” Parker of Madison; her daughters, Laura Elaine Parks and Betty Beach, both of Madison; her sons, Alex Parks and Robert Parks, both of Madison; her stepson, James Parker of Milton; her sisters, Polly Parks, Harriet Grubbs and Louise Osborne, all of Madison; and 12-grandchildren, 21-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her twins, Ollie and Harry Miller; and a grandson, a great grandson and a sister, Betty Jane Owens.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison.
Interment will follow at a later date in the Springdale Cemetery in downtown Madison.

She was born June 16, 1937, in Switzerland County, Indiana, to Wilbur and Beatrice Lillian Waller Ellis. She was raised in Aberdeen, Indiana, and attended school in Florence, Indiana. She was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay for 43 years until it closed in 2000. She was also an employ of the Vevay IGA and Vevay Super Value for several years and as a greeter for Walmart in Aurora, Indiana, for several years. She attended Fairview Baptist Church and Concord Community Church, was a member of the Switzerland County Historical Society, Youth Board of Ohio County for five years and the Ohio County 4-H Fair Board for 10 years. She enjoyed going to craft shows on the weekends for more than 20 years in Indianapolis.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Kidwell of Indianapolis and Karen Peters of Seymour, Indiana; a sister, Wilma “Jeannie” Hammond of Aberdeen; and two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Opal Lucille Ellis Scott and Eleanor C. Stephenson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 3, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery there. Friends may call from noon until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.

Bud Lawler
Otis Daryl “Bud” Lawler, 87, of Joshua, Texas, died Sunday, June 7, 2020, there.
He was born June 28, 1932, in Hanover, Indiana, to Grace Hoard Lawler and Otis Cleveland Lawler, and raised in the Hanover-Madison area. He married Carolyn Lucas Lawler in 1957 and they had three sons. He was a U.S. military veteran of 25 years, first joining the U.S. Navy, then transferring to the U.S. Air Force where he retired in Fort Worth, Texas, as a Senior Master Sergeant (E-8). Following service he worked for General Dynamics/Lockheed in Fort Worth. After his final retirement he and his wife moved to the country near Joshua. A few years earlier a cousin from Jeffersonville, Indiana, shared how he had moved a house that he had bought to live in, so inspired by that story he bought a house and moved it to their 1.5 acre property in Joshua. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes and watching old TV Westerns, the NBA Dallas Mavericks and the NFL Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors include his sons, Ricky Lee Lawler of Joshua, Larry M. Lawler of Woodbury, Minnesota, and Gary N. Lawler of Burleson, Texas; and four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Leila Lawler Thornton.
Funeral services and internment were at Laurel Land Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Fort Worth on June 11.
Ken Massey
Mitchell Kenneth “Ken” Massey, 92, of Carrollton, Kentucky, died Sunday, June 28, 2020.
He was born on May 23, 1928, the fourth of nine children to John and Juil Flener Massey of Holder, Illinois. The family moved to Somerset, Kentucky, when he was 3 years old. He married Patsy Jean Knigga on March 21, 1954 in the Ghent Baptist Church and they had three children. He was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, served as director of music and education at churches in Hickory, North Carolina, Corbin, Princeton and Harlan in Kentucky and Belleville, Illinois.
When his mother-in-law’s health declined he resigned from church work in 1969 and moved to Ghent to take a position as a teacher in the Carroll County School System where he taught for 20 years. Many of his students remember him for his creative science lessons and fairness to all. He held several leadership positions in the Ghent Baptist Church and the Whites Run Baptist Association, including many years in charge of the campground ministry at General Butler State Park. He was also active in The Gideons International, and participated in the racetrack ministries program. He was a piano tuner in the area for 30 years in January of 1997 had the opportunity to tune and repair pianos for churches and missionaries in Honduras.
After retirement, he and his wife spent their time visiting their children and grandchildren and traveling to all 50 United States and several Canadian Provinces. His wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in the early 2000s, and broke her hip in 2008, and he visited her every day at the nursing home until her death in 2016.
Survivors include his three children, Diane Coombs of Asheville, North Carolina, Michael Massey of Cincinnati and Karen McMillan of Lillington, North Carolina; two brothers, Steve and Nick Massey and one sister, Margaret Holt, all of Somerset; and six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his his parents, his wife and four brothers, John, George, Jake, and Joe, and one sister, Mary.
Funeral services will be private.
There will be a “drive through” visitation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton, where visitors may drive through the parking lot and greet family members from their vehicles.

Kenny McKinley
Kenneth Earl “Kenny” McKinley, 80, of Hanover, Indiana, died Monday, June 29, 2020, at his home in Hanover.
He was born Aug. 8, 1939 in Clay, Kentucky, to Edward Loyd and Mayme Tapp McKinley. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Clay High School. He moved to Madison at age 20 and married Eva Diane Scott in 1961 and they had two sons. He worked early in life in construction in Clay and Louisville. He retired from Grote Industries after 42 1/2 years as a mold setter and held membership in the Grote Quarter of the Century Club. He enjoyed guns, knives, bird watching — especially hummingbirds — playing golf, hunting Indian relics — especially arrowheads — fishing, hunting and the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eva Diane Scott McKinley, of Hanover; his sons, Kevin McKinley of Hanover and Michael Wayne McKinley of Milton, Kentucky; a brother, Douglas McKinley of Dixon, Kentucky; and seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Malcohm McKinley, William Ed McKinley and E.L. McKinley Jr., and his sisters, June Stewart and Wanda Wilson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 3, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will follow in the Brooksburg Cemetery in Brooksburg, Indiana. Friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

Bud Lawler
Otis Daryl “Bud” Lawler, 87, of Joshua, Texas, died Sunday, June 7, 2020, there.
He was born June 28, 1932, in Hanover, Indiana, to Grace Hoard Lawler and Otis Cleveland Lawler, and raised in the Hanover-Madison area. He married Carolyn Lucas Lawler in 1957 and they had three sons. He was a U.S. military veteran of 25 years, first joining the U.S. Navy, then transferring to the U.S. Air Force where he retired in Fort Worth, Texas, as a Senior Master Sergeant (E-8). Following service he worked for General Dynamics/Lockheed in Fort Worth. After his final retirement he and his wife moved to the country near Joshua. A few years earlier a cousin from Jeffersonville, Indiana, shared how he had moved a house that he had bought to live in, so inspired by that story he bought a house and moved it to their 1.5 acre property in Joshua. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes and watching old TV Westerns, the NBA Dallas Mavericks and the NFL Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors include his sons, Ricky Lee Lawler of Joshua, Larry M. Lawler of Woodbury, Minnesota, and Gary N. Lawler of Burleson, Texas; and four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Leila Lawler Thornton.
Funeral services and internment were at Laurel Land Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Fort Worth on June 11.
Kenny McKinley
Kenneth Earl “Kenny” McKinley, 80, of Hanover, Indiana, died Monday, June 29, 2020, at his home in Hanover.
He was born Aug. 8, 1939 in Clay, Kentucky, to Edward Loyd and Mayme Tapp McKinley. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Clay High School. He moved to Madison at age 20 and married Eva Diane Scott in 1961 and they had two sons. He worked early in life in construction in Clay and Louisville. He retired from Grote Industries after 42 1/2 years as a mold setter and held membership in the Grote Quarter of the Century Club. He enjoyed guns, knives, bird watching — especially hummingbirds — playing golf, hunting Indian relics — especially arrowheads — fishing, hunting and the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eva Diane Scott McKinley, of Hanover; his sons, Kevin McKinley of Hanover and Michael Wayne McKinley of Milton, Kentucky; a brother, Douglas McKinley of Dixon, Kentucky; and seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Malcohm McKinley, William Ed McKinley and E.L. McKinley Jr., and his sisters, June Stewart and Wanda Wilson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 3, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will follow in the Brooksburg Cemetery in Brooksburg, Indiana. Friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

Ken Massey
Mitchell Kenneth “Ken” Massey, 92, of Carrollton, Kentucky, died Sunday, June 28, 2020.
He was born on May 23, 1928, the fourth of nine children to John and Juil Flener Massey of Holder, Illinois. The family moved to Somerset, Kentucky, when he was 3 years old. He married Patsy Jean Knigga on March 21, 1954 in the Ghent Baptist Church and they had three children. He was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, served as director of music and education at churches in Hickory, North Carolina, Corbin, Princeton and Harlan in Kentucky and Belleville, Illinois.
When his mother-in-law’s health declined he resigned from church work in 1969 and moved to Ghent to take a position as a teacher in the Carroll County School System where he taught for 20 years. Many of his students remember him for his creative science lessons and fairness to all. He held several leadership positions in the Ghent Baptist Church and the Whites Run Baptist Association, including many years in charge of the campground ministry at General Butler State Park. He was also active in The Gideons International, and participated in the racetrack ministries program. He was a piano tuner in the area for 30 years in January of 1997 had the opportunity to tune and repair pianos for churches and missionaries in Honduras.
After retirement, he and his wife spent their time visiting their children and grandchildren and traveling to all 50 United States and several Canadian Provinces. His wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in the early 2000s, and broke her hip in 2008, and he visited her every day at the nursing home until her death in 2016.
Survivors include his three children, Diane Coombs of Asheville, North Carolina, Michael Massey of Cincinnati and Karen McMillan of Lillington, North Carolina; two brothers, Steve and Nick Massey and one sister, Margaret Holt, all of Somerset; and six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his his parents, his wife and four brothers, John, George, Jake, and Joe, and one sister, Mary.
Funeral services will be private.
There will be a “drive through” visitation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton, where visitors may drive through the parking lot and greet family members from their vehicles.

Naomi Wainscott
Naomi Ruth Wainscott, 86, of Carrollton, Kentucky, died Friday, June 26, 2020, at her home in Carrollton.
She was born Oct. 26, 1933, in Carroll County, Kentucky, to Herbert Courtney and Hattie B. Wheeler Courtney. She had worked all of her life including at the Teledyne Wirz factory in Carrollton, Dairy Queen, Vanity Fair and most recently North Key in Carrollton. She had delivered newspapers for The Madison Courier and Courier-Journal for many years and was a member of the Relevant Church in Carrollton.
Survived include her daughter, Charlene Terrell of Carrollton; her son, Duane “Dewey” Wainscott of Carrollton, a sister, Dorothy Sharon of Worthville, Kentucky; and four grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles B. Wainscott; a sister, Bessie Lucas; and three brothers, Eunice Lee Courtney, Cecil Norman Courtney and Herbert Eugene Courtney.
Funeral Services were Wednesday, July 1, at the Relevant Church in Carrollton. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

Chris Crase, 53, of Ghent, Kentucky, died Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.
He was born Aug. 11, 1966, to William Harrison Crase Sr. and Rebecca Ann McBurney. He had last worked as a field supervisor for West Carroll Water District No. 1 in Ghent until his health declined. He had previously worked for M & T Chemical Company in Carrollton and enjoyed working in the home construction industry and on the family’s rental properties. He loved to farm and enjoyed farm management and operation.
He was a good story-teller who was always able to keep a straight face whenever he had a tale to spin. He was a good pool player, enjoyed playing golf and loved to hunt and fish and be outdoors in nature. He had attended Ghent Baptist Church and Carrollton Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include his mother, his high school sweetheart and wife of 23 years, Anna Susie Burgess Crase; the two fathers who raised him, Robert C. McBurney Jr. and William Miller, both of Carrollton; his son, Trent Myles Crase of Ghent; his brothers, Dean Miller of Carrollton, Harry Crase of Ghent and Robert McBurney II; two sisters, Tammy McBurney of Cincinnati and Hope Clark of Independence, Kentucky; and a granddaughter and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be private at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial will take place in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery in Ghent. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 6, at the funeral home.

Richard Green
Richard Lee “Rick” Green, 68, of Vevay, Indiana, died Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay.
He was born on March 31, 1952, in Shelbyville, Indiana, to Arthur “Buddy” and Olive Frances Baatz Green. He was inducted into the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. He owned and operated Green’s Construction in Switzerland County for 20 years. He resided in the Glenco, Kentucky, community for 10 years but spent most of his life in the Switzerland County community. He was a member of the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling, Indiana. He was also a member of the Vevay American Legion Post No.185 and a life member of the Vevay VFW Post No. 5396. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting pool, computers and the outdoors.
Survivors include his son, Shawn Green of Commiskey, Indiana; his stepdaughters, Mariah Cunningham and Jessica Jones, both of Gallatin County, Kentucky; a stepson, Jeffrey Cunningham of Shelbyville; his brother, Larry Green of Madison, Indiana; and two grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and oher relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 12 years, Donna Mae Arthur Green, on May 16, 2017; his sister, Kathy Sue Green Burton, in 2019; and his stepson, Randy Cunningham, in 2010.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Interment and full military rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post No. 185 and the Vevay VFW Post No. 5396 in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison. Roland Carlton
Roland K. “Bubby” Carlton, 68, of Worthville, Kentucky, died on Friday, July 3, 2020, at his residence in Worthville.
He was born July 26, 1951, on the family farm in Ghent, Kentucky, to Elmer Carlton Sr. and Melvina Furnish Carlton. He had worked most of his life at gas stations and factories, his last position as a wire machinist at a factory in La Grange, Kentucky. After his retirement he enjoyed repairing small engines, going to yard sales and bargain hunting. He was a member of the Ghent Baptist Church and grew up in the Ghent Community.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Wanda Jean Richmond Carlton; a son, Ronald Carlton of New Castle, Kentucky; a stepdaughter, Sherry Jackson of Carrollton, Kentucky; two stepsons, Scott Robbins of Bedford, Kentucky and Todd Helm of Burlington, Kentucky; and a granddaughter, several stepgrandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Kenneth Ryan Carlton, Alfred “Buster” Carlton and Elmer “Junior” Carlton.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, at the Ghent Masonic Cemetery. There will be no public visitation and all services will be at the cemetery.

Edwina “Winnie” Woolums Embry, 78, of Florence, Indiana, died Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at her residence.
She was born June 28, 1942, in Owen County, Kentucky, to Orman and Mary Blanche Hopper Woolums. She was raised in Vevay, Indiana where she attended the Switzerland County High School. She was employed as a security guard and receptionist for Belterra Casino & Resort in Florence for several years. She owned and operated with her husband the restaurant at the VFW Post No. 1969 in Madison, Indiana, for four years, and was a member of the Center Square Church of Christ in Center Square, Indiana. She enjoyed attending yard sales, fishing, sleeping and gambling.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Harold J. Embry of Florence; a daughter, Wendi Jo Staudenheimer of Carrollton, Kentucky; a son, Charles E. Harvey Jr. of Loretto, Kentucky; her brother, Rick Woolums of Vevay; a sister, Roberta Scudder of Vevay; and 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Christopher Joseph Castle, in 2015 and a sister Anna Mae Works-Furnish, died July 5, 2014.
Private family funeral services will be held. Interment will follow in the New Liberty Cemetery in East Enterprise, Indiana.
