Ed Goodin

James Edgar “Ed” Goodin, 54, of Lexington, Indiana, died Thursday, June 18, 2020, at his home near Lexington.

He was born June 21, 1965, in Madison, Indiana, to Johnnie and Jeanette June Zearing Goodin. He was raised in Hanover and Lexington and was a 1983 graduate of Southwestern High School where he was on the wrestling team. He worked for 19 years at Hilex in North Vernon, Indiana, as a machine operator and for the past three years in assembly at Rotary Lift in Madison. He loved to fish, hunt and be with his family.

Survivors incude his wife, Mary L. Hartwell Goodin, of Lexington; his children, Katie J. Hymer of Irvine, Kentucky, James A. Goodin of Scottsburg, Indiana, Joshua T. Goodin of Lexington, Indiana, Amanda Walker and Tyann Emily, both of Crothersville, Indiana and Aaron Wood of Seymour, Indiana; his brothers, John Oscar Goodin and Mark Anthony Goodin, both of Madison; and 13 grandchildren and several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Friends may visit from 4 p.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Wilma Gullion

Wilma T. Tingle Gullion, 92, of Madison, Indiana, died Thursday, June 18, 2020, at the Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover, Indiana.

She was born Jan. 7, 1928, in Henry County, Kentucky, to Jessee and Frances K. Monfort Tingle. She graduated from Campbellsburg High School, attended two years at Georgetown College and graduated from Hanover College where she received her bachelor’s in education and earned a master’s degree later from Indiana University. She taught third grade at Rykers’ Ridge Elementary from l964 to l990. Previously, she had taught in Campbellsburg starting as a senior in high school. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star Hanover Chapter, Retired Teacher’s Association— state and county — and had been a docent for Historic Madison Inc. at the Madison Railroad Station and Dr. Hutchings Office and Museum. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, playing piano, traveling and cooking.

Survivors include her son, Randall N. “Randy” Gullion of Madison; her daughter, Carol Macmann of New Lebanon, Ohio; her grandchildren, Kristopher N. Gullion and Aaron Macmann; her stepgrandchildren, Jesse Stillwell and Sarah Stillwell; and two great grandchildren, three stepgreat grandchildren and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, George M. Gullion, on March 6, 2006; and an infant brother, Ralph Edward Tingle, in 1921.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 22, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will follow in the Port Royal Cemetery in Port Royal, Kentucky. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Clarence Nolan Sr.

Clarence A. Nolan Sr., 96, of Madison, Indiana, died on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at the Wedgewood Health Care Center in Clarksville, Indiana.

He was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Bledsoe, Kentucky, to Chester A. and Sally Cooper Nolan. He was raised in Bledsoe and attended school there and then inducted into the U.S. Army in Harlan, Kentucky, on Nov. 24, 1942. He rose to the rate of Technician Fifth Grade serving in Headquarters Company, 377th Parachute Field Artillery Battalion of the 101st Airborne Division during World War II. He fought in the battles and campaigns of Northern France, Rhineland and Normandy. He was honorably discharged on March 3, 1946, at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, receiving the EAME Theater Medal with three Bronze Battle Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the American Theater Ribbon and the Distinguished Unit Award. He married and worked early in life for Continental Baking Company in Hammond, Indiana, and as a district manager for Commonwealth Insurance Company. He then worked as a switchman for Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad and Inland Steel Company in East Chicago, Indiana, for 19 years. The family moved to Jefferson County in 1964 and purchased a farm. He enjoyed raising Red Poll Cattle until he retired at the age of 83. He was proud of his Irish heritage, enjoyed being outdoors, sitting in the swing and watching cars go by. He loved to watch old Westerns on television, was a member of the Kent Christian Church, the American Red Poll Association and the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.

Survivors include his daughters, Diana Sue Tate of Newnan, Georgia, Colleen Ralston of Greenwood, Indiana, Cathleen Rabion of Manville, Indiana, Corinne Martin of Florence, Indiana and Carrie Wright of Madison; his sons, James Nolan of Warsaw, Indiana and Chet Nolan, Clarence Nolan Jr. and Christopher “Chris” Nolan, all of Madison; his sisters, Christina Vargis of Zapotiltic, Mexico and Sue Tweedle of Lima, Peru; and 29 grandchildren, 18 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 68 years, Irma Isabelle Lincoln Nolan, on Aug. 23, 2016; a son, Charles Arthur Nolan, in 2018; seven sisters, Elsie Nolan Cooper Becker, Ethel DeLonga Thorpe, Etta Myrtle Gaw, Helen H. Harris, Bernadette Elaine Ramon, Mavis Nolan Brown and Jane Nolan; three brothers, Herbert Hoover Nolan, Donald Dedrick Nolan and Fred Junior Nolan; and a grandson.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the family delayed a public memorial service and have now decided it will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will follow at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison. A final salute with military honors will be conducted by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.

Raelynn Poer

Raelynn Marie Poer was stillborn Sunday, June 7, 2020, at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville, Indiana. She was expected to be born July 30, 2020, to Cassandra Lynn Poer.

She is survived by her mother; a sister, Anna Marie Poer, of Madison, Indiana; her maternal grandparents, Samantha and Tracy Mefford of Madison; her maternal great grandfather, Hubert J. Mefford of Madison; her maternal great grandparents, Vickie and Carl Smith of Madison; and several uncles, great uncles, great aunts and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her great grandmother, Judy A. Mefford; her great grandparents, Dora L. Mack and William D. Mack; and her great-great grandparents, Emma Lamb Mack and Henry Mack.

Friends may visit Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 24.

Cheri Reed

Cheryl “Cheri” Darlene Reed, 75, of Friendsville, Tennessee, died Wednesday, June 17, 2020, there.

She was born April 24, 1945, in Madison, Indiana, to Maurice and Marjorie Horine and was a beautician who owned her own salon in Hanover, Indiana,

She was a long-time member of Kent Christian Church in Kent, Indiana.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald Reed, of Friendsville; her stepsons Gerald Reed Jr. and Douglas Reed; her brother David Horine, her sisters Catherine Kendall Horine and Valerie “Gay” Northern; her precious dog, Missy, and many family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kendall Horine.

Cremation was chosen.

A private graveside service for immediate family will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at Kent Cemetery near Madison.

Gayla Tomlinson

Gayla Jean Tomlinson, 67, of Carrollton, Kentucky, died Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Louisville East Post Acute in Louisville.

She was born Aug. 25, 1952, in Madison, Indiana, to Charles Eugene Kindoll and Willanna Berry Kindoll. She had formerly worked for General Butler State Park & Resort as an assistant chef, retiring after 26 1/2 years in September 2010. She was a member of the Carrollton Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include three sisters, Barbara Shepherd, Vicki Hughes and Sandy Harmon, all of Carrollton; four brothers, Gary “Tic” Kindoll, Randall Kindoll, Larry Kindoll and Ricky Kindoll, all of Carrollton; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Allen Tomlinson, and a brother, Charles Bradley Kindoll Sr.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

Kathryn Hoskins

Kathryn B. Robertson Hoskins, 99, of Vevay, Indiana, died Sunday, June 21, 2020, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

She was born May 5, 1921, in Carrollton, Kentucky, to William Ernest and Vera King Robertson. She graduated from Carrollton High School in 1940.

She married and lived in Bedford, Kentucky, and was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church there. In 1955 she and her husband moved to a farm on S.R. 56 in Vevay. She was a member of the Bennington Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 407 and Order of Eastern Star Carroll Chapter No. 442. She did volunteer work at the Lord’s Cupboard in Vevay and in Rising Sun for many years. She enjoyed quilting and needle work, caring for her grandchildren, gardening and canning her harvest. She spent many years in the kitchen making home cooked meals for neighbors, farm hands and seasonal hunters.

Survivors include her daughters, Clarica Mathews of Cross Plains, Indiana and Marjorie Hoskins of Vevay; a son, Billy Hoskins of Vevay; and seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elisha B. Hoskins; a brother, James King Robertson and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2020, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery there. Friends may call from10 a.m. Friday until time of services at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19, all attendees must wear a mask and social distance.

Joann Goins

Joann Royce Goins, 83, of Madison, Indiana, died Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.

She was born Aug. 29, 1936, in Madison, to Walter E. and Helen M. Holcraft Royce.

She graduated from Madison High School on Broadway in 1954 and immediately began a long career as a bookkeeper in the grocery business at Kroger in Madison. While living in Madison, she was a member of First Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star. In 1967, she and her family moved to Saint Cloud, Florida, where she worked as a bookkeeper for A&P groceries in Saint Cloud and Kissimmee, Florida, and for the former Rife’s Market in Saint Cloud, retiring in 2006. While living in Saint Cloud, she held memberships in First Baptist Church, Saint Cloud United Methodist Church, and the Order of Eastern Star. She returned to live in Madison in 2013. She enjoyed traveling, was a seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitch, quilting and making ceramics. She also enjoyed reading, walking, watching her hummingbirds and singing in the church choir.

Survivors include three sons, Ken Goins of Madison, Ron Goins of Orlando, Florida and Michael Goins of Lynchburg, Virginia; one sister, Barbara Lutz of Charlestown, Indiana; and nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jim Royce and Don Royce.

Memorial services will be at noon on Saturday, June 27, at Madison First Baptist Church in Madison. Burial was held previously at Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Madison First Baptist Church Stained Glass Window Fund.

Jim Richey

James Potter “Jim” Richey, 91, of Carrollton, Kentucky, died Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at Baptist Health Hospital in Louisville.

He was born Feb. 27, 1929, in Poughkeepsie, New York, and developed a love of building things, especially out of wood. He served in the U.S. Navy as a medical corpsman, then enrolled at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, where he created his first business, a small laundry pick-up and delivery service. After leaving Bard, he took a

variety of jobs in manufacturing before finally settling on woodworking. He moved to Carrollton in 1969 to join the Ison Brothers Furniture Factory, then started Butler Furniture Industries (later BFI), employing more than 100 workers and making furniture for homes across the country. He retired when BFI ceased operation in the early 1980s but then volunteered with Habitat For Humanity, where as a project director he led the construction of dozens of houses that eventually became homes for families. He also used his woodworking skills on renovation projects, including doorways and window frames of business in both Carrollton and Madison, Indiana, including interior renovations of Episcopal churches in both Madison and Louisville.

He was also a serious gardener, an avid skier and until late in life a private airplane pilot. He enjoyed skiing into his 80s and was a ski instructor until recent years.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Richey; three children, Meghan McGrath, Matthew Richey and Andrew Richey; a brother Alban Richey; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and one great grandchild.

A private memorial service was June 18, 2020, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton.

James Smitha Jr.

James Leslie “Hook” Smitha Jr. 62, of Ghent, Kentucky, died on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at the Baptist Health in La Grange, Kentucky.

He was born Feb. 19, 1958, to James Leslie Smitha and Virginia Barr Smitha. He had worked as a farmer all of his life and loved raising gardens and spending time on anything allowing him to work outdoors. He loved to fish and play cards in his spare time and was of the Baptist faith.

Suvivors include two sisters, Sue Courtney of Ghent and Donna Dennis of Warsaw, Kentucky; a brother, Mike Hoopengarner of Carrollton, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Edith L. Gordon and Sherry Hoopengarner; and three brothers, Terry, Jerry and Timmy Hoopengarner.

Lucas Webster

Lucas Cade Webster, 20, of Carrollton, Kentucky, died Friday, June 19, 2020, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.

He was born Feb. 26, 2000, in La Grange, Kentucky, to Autumn Oneal and Jack Webster. He was a 2019 graduate of Trimble County High School and currently a student at Jefferson Community and Technical College in Carrollton. He was a member of North Madison Christian Church in Madison, Indiana.

He loved music, hunting and fishing and going to Florida with his dad fishing and on adventures with his mother like Disney World, Paradise Island, Disney cruises and the ocean many times.

His disease, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, was the biggest fight of his life.

He is survived by his mother and father; step-father, Todd Oneal; a brother, Colton Oneal; a brother by another mother, Ben Stevens; maternal grandparents, Dr. Cecil and Judy Martin; paternal grandparents, Jack and Janice Webster; step grandparents, Gary and Sue Oneal; great grandmother, Norma Simmons; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m.Thursday, June 25, at North Madison Christian Church, with interment to follow in Bedford Cemetery in Bedford. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Thursday — all at the church.

David Adams

George Hereford

George E. Hereford, 94, of Milton, Kentucky, died Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at the Hanover Health & Rehab Center in Hanover, Indiana.

He was born Oct. 2, 1925, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to Burr Patton Sr. and Amanda May Auxier Hereford. His family moved to Trimble County in 1932 and he attended school there. He married Mary Elizabeth Andrew and they had a son, Larry. He owned and operated the City Coal Company in Madison, Indiana, for many years dealing in the mining of coal and providing coal and oil to his customers. He then married Anna M. Bright in 1955 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Jefferson County and they had a son, Kevin, and made their home on Rykers Ridge for 42 years before building a new home on the family farm in Trimble County and moving there in 2008. He had farmed most of his life and had owned and operated the Trimble County Farm Supply Company for more than 30 years before retiring in 2015. He was known for his work ethic and had also operated a logging and timber business for many years. He loved going fishing with his granddaughter and enjoyed hunting earlier in life. He was a member of the Mt. Byrd Christian Church in Milton.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 65 years, Anna M. Ruth Hussong

Ruth Martin Hussong, 94 of Springboro, Ohio, died Thursday, June 18, 2020.

She was born on Nov. 12, 1925, in Madison, Indiana, to Charles and Lillian Martinand moved to Dayton, Ohio, after graduating high school. She worked at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, in the office pool until she was married and then was a homemaker raising their children full time. She was a long time member of Shiloh Church. Survivors include her sons, Mike Hussong of Madison, Dave Hussong of Tipp City, Indiana; a daughter, Nancy Gabbard of Springboro; and seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a nephew.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Hussong; her brothers, Jim and Bill Martin, and two nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at Tobias Funeral Home, Far Hills Avenue Chapel, in Dayton. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Thelma Osborn

Thelma Sue Roark Osborn, 67, of Vevay, Indiana, died Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati.

She was born April 10, 1953, at her family’s home in Letcher County, Kentucky, one of 17 children to Lue and Arnie Caudill Roark. She was raised in Vevay where she attended Switzerland County High School. She married Baxter Osborn Sr. on Sept. 13, 1970, in Sunman, Indiana, and they had three sons. She was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Osgood and Madison, Indiana, retiring after 27 years of service. She was a member of the Little Memory Old Regular Baptist Church in Sunman, Indiana. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels outside her window, playing cards and sewing. She also enjoyed going to bingo and girl’s nights with her sisters where they would play cards, reminisce and enjoy one another’s cooking.

Survivors include her husband of almost 50 years; her sons, Neal Osborn and Steven Osborn, both of Vevay; her brothers, Harley Roark and James Roark, both of Holton, Indiana, John Roark of Madison, Joe Roark of Osgood and Mark Roark of Linefork, Kentucky; her sisters, Bonnie Kieffer of Osgood, Bonita Halcomb of Linefork and Tina Wingate and Martha Hammons, both of Canaan, Indiana; and five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Minnie Roark; a son, Baxter Osborn Jr. in 1972; a brother, Charles A. Roark; and six sisters, Dana F. Craig, Ola Vae Simon, Anna Mae Ahuas, Eula Sizemore, Lola Wood and Georgia Ann Sparks.

David Adams

David Wayne Adams, 57, of North Vernon, Indiana, died Saturday, June 20, 2020, at his residence in North Vernon.

He was born March 18, 1963, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Thomas Adams and Jeri Spilman and was raised in Oakland City, Indiana and Raceland, Kentucky. He was inducted into the U.S. Air Force on Nov. 13, 1980 in Columbus, Ohio. He served as a security specialist and served in Guam and later as a staff sergeant during Desert Storm. He was honorably discharged on Oct. 25, 1991, at Grissom Air Force Base in Indiana, receiving the Commendation Medal, Small Arm Expert Marksmanship, National Defense Service Medal, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the Joint Meritorious Unit Award for support to the Presidential Counternarcotics Task Force.

He married and had a daughter, had a companionship and had a second daughter, married a second time in 1987 and had a third daughter and married a third time in 1998 and had a son. He worked as a cable technician with Apollo Communications and later as a safety officer for Interstate Mechanical Contractors at North American Stainless in Ghent, Kentucky. He also worked as a correctional officer for the State of Indiana for several years and had worked for Thomas Plastic Machinery in Scottsburg and with Biehle Electric in Seymour as an electrician. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed playing softball, bowling, golf and computers.

He is survived by his mother, of Raceland, Kentucky; his father, of Oakland City, Indiana; his daughters, Candice Murray of Grayson, Kentucky, Amber Reeves of Helena, Alabama and Hannah Adams of Madison; his son, Cody Adams of Mooresville, Indiana; his brothers, Jeffrey Adams and Tommy Adams, both of Oakland City; his sisters, Brooke Staten and Kimberly Spilman, both of Raceland and Meredith Bysarovich of Oakland City; and five grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his stepbrother, Timmy Spilman; his stepfather, Tom Spilman; his grandparents, Bob and Evolene Adams and Robert and Wanda Cropper, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 29, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison. Friends may visit Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

A final salute will be conducted on Monday at the funeral home by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion with full military honors to follow at the cemetery.

George Hereford

George E. Hereford, 94, of Milton, Kentucky, died Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at the Hanover Health & Rehab Center in Hanover, Indiana.

He was born Oct. 2, 1925, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to Burr

Patton Sr. and Amanda May Auxier Hereford. His family moved to Trimble County in

1932 and he attended school there. He married Mary Elizabeth Andrew and they had a son, Larry. He owned and operated the City Coal Company in Madison, Indiana, for many years dealing in the mining of coal and providing coal and oil to his customers. He then married Anna M. Bright in 1955 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Jefferson County and they had a son, Kevin, and made their home on Rykers Ridge for 42 years before building a new home on the family farm in Trimble County and moving there in 2008. He had farmed most of his life and had owned and operated the Trimble County Farm Supply Company for more than 30 years before retiring in 2015. He was known for his work ethic and had also operated a logging and timber business for many years. He loved going fishing with his granddaughter and enjoyed hunting earlier in life. He was a member of the Mt. Byrd Christian Church in Milton.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 65 years, Anna M. Bright Hereford, of Milton; his sons, Kevin Hereford and Larry Hereford, both of Milton; his sister, June Hereford Nighbert of Madison; and two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

James Willett

James Edward “Jimmy” Willett, 81, of Madison, Indiana, died Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at his home in Madison.

He was born July 18, 1938, in Henderson, Kentucky, to Thaddeus Newman Sr. and Mary Josie Mills Willett. He was raised in Henderson and was a 1957 graduate of Henderson High School. He was married in 1959 and had two daughters. He retired after 42 years of service with the Kroger Company, beginning his career in Henderson, then moving to Owensboro, Olney, Georgetown, North Vernon and Madison in 1980 where he retired as Manager in 2000. He was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in Henderson until he became a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Madison. He was an honorary Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed gardening — especially raising tomatoes — mowing the lawn, fishing, playing cards, going to horse races, flying to Las Vegas and going to the boat.

Survivors include his daughters, Karen Gayle Lewis and April Clifton, both of Madison; a brother, Bobby Willett of Henderson; a granddaughter, Michelle Lewis of Madison; a god daughter, Cil Abbott of Lexington, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 55 years, Mary Ruth Beckham Willett, on Nov, 21, 2014; a daughter, Mary Jane Willett, in 1968; his sisters, Jean Sellers, Louise Rideout and Gladys Goldner; and a brother, Newman Willett Jr.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, at the St. Patrick Catholic Chapel in Madison. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery in Madison. Friends may visit Monday from 5 p.m.to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Nancy Hoard

Nancy Lynn Ford Hoard, 72, of Pendleton, Kentucky, died Friday, June 26, 2020, at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort, Kentucky.

She was born on Aug. 9, 1947, in Carroll County, Kentucky, to Harvey Ford and Dorothy Lee Garrett Ford. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and housewife, helping raise her large family. She was a member of the English Baptist Church and enjoyed making crafts, sewing and tending to a garden that she enjoyed raising.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Wayne Hoard, of Pendleton; five sons, Dennis Pyles of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Adam Hoard of Pendleton, Joshua Hoard of Louisville, Travis Hoard of Bedford, Kentucky and Jimmy Hoard; five daughters, Kimberly Mullikin of Milton, Kentucky, Cristi Rice of Pendleton, Jeni Bradburn of Michigan, Jody Hoard of Carrollton, Kentucky and Niki Terry; two sisters, Linda Riddle and Bonnie Smith of Bedford; and 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandchild and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the English Cemetery near Carrollton.

Priscilla Lane Owens Parker, 74, of Madison, Indiana, died Thursday, June 25, 2020, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.

She was born Sept. 1, 1945, in Madison, to Harry C. and Ollie Elizabeth Richards Owens. She lived most of her life in Jefferson County except for three years spent in Miami, Florida. She was married to Alex Parks 13 years and had four children. She attended the Salvation Army Church. She later married Earl G. “Bud” Parker. She worked as a farm laborer for the Burkhardt family in Milton, Kentucky, for 25 years, loved playing bingo, socializing with her family and friends. She was cared for by her sister, Louise, the past three years.

Survivors include husband of 43 years, Earl G. “Bud” Parker of Madison; her daughters, Laura Elaine Parks and Betty Beach, both of Madison; her sons, Alex Parks and Robert Parks, both of Madison; her stepson, James Parker of Milton; her sisters, Polly Parks, Harriet Grubbs and Louise Osborne, all of Madison; and 12-grandchildren, 21-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her twins, Ollie and Harry Miller; and a grandson, a great grandson and a sister, Betty Jane Owens.
