William Huttsell
William Dale “Moose” Huttsell, 69, of Madison, Indiana and formerly of Hanover, Indiana, died Sunday, July 5, 2020, at the River Terrace Health Campus in Madison.
He was born Dec. 22, 1950, in Madison, to William Edward and Verna Katherine Salee Huttsell. He was raised in Jefferson County and attended Saluda Schools and Southwestern High School. He was inducted into the U.S. Navy on Sept. 29, 1971 at Hanover, and rose to the rate of Fireman Recruit serving aboard the USS Hancock (CVA-19) during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on June 19, 1973 at San Francisco, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Navy Unit Commendation Medal. He returned home and worked for Holm Industries in Scottsburg and helped with delivery of the Scottsburg Giveaway Newspaper. He worked earlier in life for LG & E and for Williamson Heater. He enjoyed gardening, bird-watching and being outdoors.
Survivors include his care-giver, Lisa Hearron and her daughter, Paige Sittineri of Madison; a brother, Robert “Bob” Huttsell of Hanover; his sisters, Linda Greene, Clara “Jerry” Huttsell and Nena Wilson, all of Hanover; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marshall Ray Huttsell, on March 19, 2020.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Madison. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery there. Friends may visit from noon until time of services at the chapel.
A final salute will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, with full military honors to follow at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel by the United States Naval Ceremonial Unit and the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.

Grover Montgomery
Grover Palmer Montgomery, 88, of Pendleton, Kentucky, died Friday, July 3, 2020, at his Patton’s Creek residence.
He was born on June 19, 1932, in Pendleton, to Charles and Anna Mae Neal Montgomery. He served in the U.S. Air Force from Oct. 1951 to Oct. 1955, honorably discharged as a staff sergeant. He retired after many years as a welder at General Electric Company in Louisville and was a member of Local 761 of the International Union of Electronic, Electrical, Salaried Machine and Furniture workers (IUE). He was a volunteer for Multiple Sclerosis support groups, enjoyed playing cards and Sequence games. He was an avid woodworker, making Sequence boards and cherished pieces for his family. He was a lifelong member of Sligo Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee, and was an honorary Kentucky Colonel.
He is survived by three cousins, Rick Noel of Pendleton, Derek Noel of Statesboro, Georgia, and Melanie Petterman of Symrna, Georgia; a nephew, Larry Greenwood of Milton, Kentucky; and three great nieces and one great nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Martha Katherine Greenwood Montgomery on Jan. 11, 2006.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, at the Sligo Baptist Church in Pendleton. Burial will be in the Sligo Cemetery in Pendleton with the Ceremonial Unit of the U.S. Air Force presenting military honors at graveside.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, at Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, Kentucky, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the church.

Kenneth Flamion Sr.
Kenneth Allen “Kenny” Flamion Sr., 56, of Madison, Indiana and formerly of Salem, Indiana, died Monday, July 6, 2020, at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison.
He was born on Sept. 9, 1963, in Pompano Beach, Florida, to Thomas Dean and Carolyn Dorothy Rhodes Denman. Early life he resided in Florida and then later in Indiana. He worked in the sawmill industry for several years around Salem and later did factory work in Campbellsburg, Indiana. He was married to Julie Fleenor in 1998 and they had a son. He loved wood working, fishing and being a father.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Julie Fleenor Flamion, of Salem; his son, Kenneth Allen Flamion Jr. of Salem; his mother, of Pekin, Indiana; four sisters, Carol Denman of Pekin, Connie Johnson of Salem, Terri Yust of Summittville, Indiana, Duranne Everett of Sarasota, Florida; his brother, David Denman of Louisville; and an aunt, an uncle and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Lori Hall; a sister, Marilyn Eaton; his grandparents, William E. and Effie Rhodes; and an uncle.
Private family services will be held at a later date with interment to follow in the Saints Mary Catholic Cemetery in Tell City, Indiana. Private visitation will be held by the family.

David Priddy
David Randall Priddy, 82, of Madison, Indiana, died Friday, July 3, 2020, in Madison.
He was born June 8, 1938, in Brown County, Indiana, to Irvin and Irene Seitz Priddy. He was a 1957 graduate of Nashville High School. He married Darlene Bladen of New Washington, Indiana, in 1961 and they had a daughter and lived in Brown County and Columbus, Indiana, for several years, While a senior in high school, he was employed on the night shift at Cummins. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he was an employee of Arvins in Columbus until he became a commercial and residential painter, working in Indianapolis and Columbus. The family moved to Phoenix in 1973 where he developed Deer Valley Painting. Victorian homes, with their multi-colored intricate trim, were his specialty. He retired in 2000 and, after 27 years in Phoenix, they returned to Indiana to be near their daughter in Cincinnati and family in Madison. He worked part-time for several years at Sunrise Golf Course, was an avid NASCAR fan his entire life, enjoyed square dancing, sports, his grandchildren, and playing euchre and poker. He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge and was also a member of the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 American Legion in Madison.
He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Brook Priddy Agliata; and a granddaughter, two grandsons and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Elizabeth David and Phyllis Fleetwood.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison’s hilltop. Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 10 at the funeral home. Donald Boldery
Donald Lee “Curly” Boldery, 79, of Madison, Indiana, died Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville.
He was born April 17, 1941, in Madison, to Oscar and Dorothy Stewart Boldery. He was raised in Jefferson County and attended school there. He married Laura Mae Cash on Aug. 24, 1962, and they had two daughters and opened their home to many other children to whom they became second parents. He worked for 47 years as a school bus driver, retiring from the Southwestern School Corporation in Hanover. He enjoyed farming, socializing, hunting, watching wrestling, mushroom hunting, riding around on his Kawasaki mule and his family. He was a long time member of Kent Volunteer Fire Department and the Hopewell Baptist Church at Volga, Indiana.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Laura Mae Cash Boldery, of Madison; his daughters, Kayla Humphrey of Madison and Laurie Hatton of Lexington, Indiana; his three God daughters, Janet Ritenour of Milan, Indiana, Lisa Watterson of Lexington and Margie McDonough of Hanover, Indiana; a nephew he helped raise, Elston Boldery Jr. of Madison; his brothers, Joseph Boldery of Madison and James Boldery of Hanover; and seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William O. Boldery and Elston G. Boldery Sr. and a sister, Margaret Boldery Long.

He was born in Grant County, Kentucky, on Oct. 4, 1932, to Justice and Opal McCormick Webster. He served in the U.S Army from April 1953 until April 1955 and retired from the Jefferson Proving Ground in Madison, Indiana.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Wilma Jay Bickers Webster, in 2012.

Marjorie Mae “Big Marge” Tingle Adams, 87, of Madison, Indiana, died on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at the River Terrace Health Campus in Madison.
He was born Oct. 21, 1932, in Switzerland County, Indiana, to Richard DeWitt and Helen Rose Goebel Tingle. She was raised in Madison then moved to the Brooksburg, Indiana, area in 1960. She married James Edward Adams on Dec. 31, 1950, and they had a daughter. She worked as a stitcher and supervisor at the U.S. Shoe Corperation in Vevay, Indiana, for 45 years before retiring in 1999. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved gardening, sewing, her dogs, her cats, fishing, watching her hummingbirds and shopping. In 2009 she moved to Madison to be near her daughter and attended North Madison Christian Church in Madison.
Survivors include her daughter, Margie Ann Combs of Madison; her brother, John Tingle of Madison; a granddaughter, Amy J. Gatke and a grandson, B.J. Combs, both of Madison; and four great grandchildren, four nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years on Nov. 6, 2007; a brother, Madison Police Chief, George William “Bill” Tingle (Ret.); and two nephews.

Gayle Kring
Gayle Thornton Kring, 97, of Madison, Indiana, died Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at his home in Madison.
He was born June 18, 1923, in Bethlehem, Kentucky, to Charles Mason and Mary Baker Kring. He grew up in the town of Cropper, in Henry County, Kentucky and attended Mulberry School until the age of 11 when his family moved to Ghent, Kentucky. As a young boy he attended Ghent Baptist Church and was baptized in the Ohio River. After graduating from Carrollton High School in 1941, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy in Cincinnati, on Feb. 19, 1943. He rose to the rate of aviation support serving on the USS Macomb (DD458) and the USS PCE-893 during World War II. He was honorably discharged on Dec. 17, 1945, at Great Lakes, Illinois, receiving the European Theatre of Operations Medal and the American Theatre Medal. He then attended the Bryant & Stratton Business College in Louisville and worked with Dunn and Bradstreet in the accounting and budget department collecting data from the different mining companies in eastern Kentucky. On Sept. 15, 1951, he married Mary Carolyn Riley and they had two sons and two daughters. He worked in administration for 27 years at the Jefferson Proving Ground, retiring as the chief financial controller in 1977. He was an active member of North Madison Baptist Church for 55 years, past president of the Jefferson County United Way and the Madison Consolidated School Board. He was a life member of Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion, and had served twice as master of the Ghent Masonic Lodge. He was a 32nd degree member of the York Rite of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and had served as president of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was a founding member of the Sunrise Golf Course in Madison and was an honorary Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed bowling at Ritter’s Lanes and serving as league treasurer and record keeper, playing golf, mowing grass, singing in the church choir and being with family.
Survivors include his sons, Wesley A. Kring of Madison and Judson R. Kring of Indianapolis; his daughters, Gayla Marie Cheatham of North Vernon, Indiana and Mary Beth Shaw of Columbus, Indiana; his brother, Raymond Kring of Frankfort, Kentucky; and 10 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 65 years on April 26, 2017; his brothers, Austin, Mason, Rollyn, Robert and Logan Kring; his sisters, Mary Evelyn Kring, Elizabeth O’Neal and Ruth Wohl; and his twin grandchildren, David and Julianne Kring.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at the North Madison Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery in Ghent, Kentucky. Friends may visit from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison and from 3 p.m. until the time of service at the church.

Arthur Martin
Arthur “Art” Martin, 96, of Madison, Indiana, died Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.
He was born Feb. 2, 1924, in Huntington, West Virginia, to William and Mae E. Smith Martin. He graduated from Newport High School in 1943, and moved to Madison in 1960. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on March 16, 1943, in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, rising to the rate of Corporal. He served in the HQ & HQ Detachment AG and SF RS during World War II. He fought in the battles and campaigns of the Rhineland and was wounded in Germany on Jan. 25, 1945. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 17, 1945, at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, receiving the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Purple Heart Medal, and the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Medal with one Bronze Battle Star.
On June 21, 1947, he married Lyda Lee Keslar in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, and they had three daughters. He retired from Grote Industries in 1989 after 42 years of service as office manager in the accounting department. He was a charter member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church and had served as church treasurer for a time. He was a member of the VFW No. 6582 in Scottsburg, Indiana, enjoyed golfing, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed exercising at Fit for the King.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Lyda Lee Keslar Martin of Madison; his daughters, Robin Ferree of Livermore, Colorado and Diane Yoke of Indianapolis; and six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Melissa Ann Martin Allen; his brothers, Charles Martin and William Martin; and his sisters, Wanda Harlow and Maxine Hehman.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 13, at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Madison. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemeter in Madison. Lillian D. McCoskey, 100, of Madison, Indiana, died Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at River Terrace Health Campus in Madison.
She was born in Madison on Nov. 2, 1919, to Phillipine Wolf and Stewart Douglass. She lived her formative years in downtown Madison at the Madison Country Club, where her mother managed the dining room and club activities. She left Madison to join her husband, John Schoenstein, while he served as a U.S. Air Force bombardier instructor in Childress, Texas, during World War II. She returned to Madison and raised two daughters. She traveled in Europe and the United States, but cherished her returns home. She was well known for her quick wit and engaging conversation, was an avid reader and a challenging bridge partner. She was of the Methodist faith, a past president of Tri Kappa, a member of The Historical Society, Historic Madison, Elks Club and Madison Country Club and quietly supported many charities and provided food, clothing and money for families in need.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Schoenstein of Port Orange, Florida; two grandchildren, Dean ClaphamII of Greenwood, Indiana and Stephanie Phillips of Portola Hills, California; two great grandchildren, Eric and Kyle Phillips; her nephew Bob Schoenstein; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John Schoenstein and her second husband, C. Eugene McCoskey; her daughter, Susan Wolf; her grandsons, John Clapham and Brian Wolf; and two brothers, Bobby and Forrie Douglass.

She was born Feb. 5, 1957 in Scottsburg, to Carl E. Hall Sr. and Verna Maxine Robison Hall. She graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1976 and then attended the Humana Health Institute in Louisville to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She later earned her Registered Nursing credentials at Ivy Tech in Sellersburg, Indiana. She married Robert L. “Bob” Backus on Oct. 12, 1990 and they had five children. She was a registered nurse in the O.B. Labor and Delivery Department at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, where she worked for the last 13 years. She had previously worked at many other area hospitals including, Scott Memorial, Clark Memorial, Schneck and King’s Daughters’ Hospitals. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Scottsburg and, early in her life, enjoyed working in and raising vegetable and flower gardens. She was talented in many different crafts, including ceramics, crocheting and knitting and loved to bake birthday and wedding cakes.
Survivors include her mother, of Underwood, Indiana; her husband of nearly 30 years; three sons, Richie Williams, Zachary and Logan Backus, all of Scottsburg; two daughters, Christina Marie Browning of Little York, Indiana and Jessica Danielle Backus of Scottsburg; a brother, Carl E. “Buck” Hall Jr. of Underwood; a sister, Donna Kopp of Crestview, Florida; and three grandchildren one great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, at the First Christian Church in Scottsburg, Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg and after 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
CDC’s recommendations and guidelines on social distancing will be followed for visitation and services. Face coverings are encouraged and funeral services may also be viewed on the Collins Funeral Home Facebook page at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

Jeffrey Jewell
Jeffrey Alan Jewell, 60, of Sunman, Indiana and formerly of Madison, Indiana, died Friday, July 10, 2020, at his home in Sunman.
He was born Feb. 28, 1960, in Vevay, Indiana, to Scott Cantrell Sr. and Georgia Frances Cochran Jewell. He was raised in the Christian faith and attended Southwestern High School and graduated from Ivy Tech. He was first married to Faith Crabtree and later married to Linda Welsh. He worked for 30 years at Clifty Inn as a cook and for 12 years in production at Madison Precision Inc. He loved riding motorcycles, dirt track racing, NASCAR, collecting NASCAR memorabilia, watching Monday Night Wrestling and being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved his dog, Stewart, and was lovingly cared for by his companion during his recent illness.
Survivors include his mother, Georgia Frances Cochran Jewell of Madison; his companion, Tammie Green of Sunman; his sons, Paul Skirvin of Carrollton, Kentucky and Josh Jewell of Madison; his daughters, Jessica Jewell, Kristina Jewell, Jennifer Lupine, Nicole Jewell and Katelin Jewell, all of Madison; his brothers, Richard Lee Robinson of Commiskey, Indiana, Tommy Lynn “T.R.” Robinson of Shelbyville, Indiana and Scott Cantrell Jewell Jr. of Deputy, Indiana; his sister, Patty Chase of Florence, Indiana; and 20 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father; two sisters, Hilda Ann Jewell Lock and Donna Lee Jewell Bowman; a brother, Joseph Cantrell Jewell; and his grandparents and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery in Vevay. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

David Sharpe
David W. “Dave” Sharpe, 86, of Taylorsville, Indiana, died Friday, July 10, 2020, at his home.
He was born July 16, 1933, in Anderson, Indiana, to Wayne David and Audry Americus Goss Sharpe. He married Marilyn R. Greathouse on March 15, 1954, and they had two children. He had served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged after his service. He retired from Cummins Engine Company as a superintendent, enjoyed rabbit hunting and fishing and is remembered as a jokester with a positive attitude who liked working in his garden and yard.
Survivors include his son, David Sharpe of Taylorsville; his daughter, Margie Fisher of Madison; and three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his fur baby, Katie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 43 years on March 31, 1997, and a sister, Joann Weddell.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday July, 15, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street in Columbus, Indiana. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of services Wednesday. Patrons are asked to follow CDC social distancing guidelines and masks are recommended inside the funeral home.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with military honors presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
