Nickel Tax Proposal Shot Down in Trimble County Vote

June 14, 2017

The Nickel Tax, equal to five cents per $100 of real property value, was shot down in a community vote 1089 to 524 yesterday.

School administration had hoped the tax would qualify the school district for additional funds from the state, as well as help to provide money for building projects within the school corporation.

This is not the first time that this tax has been attempted, with it also having failed in November of 2016 as well.
