North Vernon Police Department News Release For Immediate Release

               At approximately 5:15 PM, Officers of the North Vernon Police Department were dispatched to the Christ’s way Church in response to an unattended newborn Infant, which had been left near the church.

Officers arrived to find that the child had been wrapped in blankets and was still alive and breathing.  Rescue 20 arrived promptly after officers did and took the child immediately into their care. The male child, believed to be Caucasian, appears to be less than 48 hours old.  It appeared that the child near full term and appeared to be in normal health. The North Vernon Police Department is asking for help in identifying anyone involved in this case.  It is extremely important that the mother of this child is located due to likely medical concerns following the delivery of the child.
