The make-up date for the storm related closure which occurred earlier this month will be Friday, April 14, 2017.
This will be an inclement weather eLearning day as it is a scheduled holiday for the district.
"Directly on the heels of the weather related school cancellation on March 1, the Madison Teachers Association (MTA) and the Madison School Corporation administration began to collaborate on the best solution for the necessary make-up day.
We agreed that an inclement weather e-Learning option would impact parents and school staff the least.
The last scheduled eLearning day of the school year will be Thursday, April 13, and Friday, April 14 will be our inclement weather make-up day”, shared Mr. Mike Turner, MTA representative and teacher at MCHS and MJHS.
“Additionally, Turner added, everyone agreed that two (2) uninterrupted weeks for spring break seemed the best course for all concerned”.
As a reminder, on inclement weather eLearning days all buildings are closed, no meals are prepared, and there is no bus transportation.
Teachers will have eLearning lessons prepared and available for students through Google Classroom and will be available to answer questions as they may arise throughout the day.
Madison Consolidated Schools received approval from the Indiana Department of Education to utilize both scheduled and inclement weather eLearning days during the 2016-2017 school year.
This is the third year the district has been approved to utilize eLearning days as part of the annual school calendar.
