The City of Madison has Announced who they have named their Grand Marshall for the Upcoming Very Merry Madison Christmas Parade.
After receiving numerous nominations, the parade committee chose on Mr. Dave Adams for the coveted position.
Dave Adams is well-known in the community for his encouraging attitude and volunteer heart.
A former City Council member (2004-2007) and Clerk Treasurer (2008-2011), Adams served as Market Master for the Farmer’s Market for over 20 years before retiring at the end of 2016.
He has served for a number of years as Youth Leader at Madison Presbyterian Church, and has been involved with the Main Street Program, Lide White Boys & Girls Club, and Big Brothers Big Sisters, among many other groups and organizations.
He is often seen driving students from Hanover College on the shuttle to Madison, taking them out to eat to try new restaurants and support local businesses.
In the nominations for Dave, he was described as “Santa’s ambassador here in Madison…as he meets and greets visitors and residents on a daily basis.”
The nominations said, “Whether leading a walking tour, or as a step-on guide on a tour bus, Dave has shared his love of Madison and its citizens for many years….and his jolly excitement is year-round not just at Christmas time.”
Say Hello to Dave on Saturday, as he will be near the beginning of the Very Merry Madison Christmas parade this Saturday, December 2nd, which starts on Main Street at 11:00AM.
