Madison Boys Basketball Ends Losing Streak with Win Over Tigers

February 9, 2018

The Madison Cubs Boys Basketball Team win by 8 points and end a 7 game losing streak against Lawrenceburg Thursday night at the Conner K Salm Gymnasium home game.

Luke Miller, the freshman with the fresh shot kept answering the Tigers scoring sprees with denials of his own including a crucial 3 pointer and Junior Cooper Yancey hit up to 20 points worth of basket in this positive MCHS game.

Another crucial 3 pointer by another Luke, Luke Ommen, showed how the visiting team from Jefferson County was standing their ground on the court.

Another point of note is how the team never ducked below a tie game. Madison had a 12-2 run at one point and Lawrenceburg had a 7-0 run, but ultimately the Cubs Defense was too fierce to let the Tigers get a real growl to stick.

Both teams scored highest in the fourth quarter and it was a good, close game.

Many Locals hope that the team can somehow sneak out a victory on Saturday, when the team takes on at home again, the New Albany Bulldogs, who just happen to have one of the top players in the country, Romeo Langford.

Tomorrow’s game is at 7:30pm and WKM News will be there to cover it, so look out for our video coverage!
