Lady Cubs Golf Roar a Tight Game Against Seymour Owls’ Screech

September 12, 2017

Madison’s Girl Golfers Took on the Seymour Owls and the Jennings County Panthers yesterday at St. Anne’s Golf Course in North Vernon, Indiana and the overall game between Madison and Seymour was a close one.
Ultimately the Lady Cubs roar succumbed to the screech of the Owls, as Seymour combined for 181 strokes to mildly topple Madison’s Jenga construction of 184 strokes and Jennings County’s lesser than 216 strokes.
Seymour’s Bridget Marshall led the Owls with a seven-over-par 43 and Madison’s Emma Beasley was their top scorer, shooting a 42, with Keegan Ehlers following up with a tight 44.
According to Madison’s coach Jake Shockley, he can’t be too upset over such a close loss.
“We tied our season low on a windy evening and on a course that we struggled on just last Thursday.
The girls really competed tonight.
Emma was solid again, Keegan improved nine strokes from last week and Destinee (Sadler) and Jenna (Imel) played super, too.”
Coach Shockley went on to mention that he hopes they can keep the same momentum through the rest of the week and into their sectional play on Saturday.
Below is the on-scene scorecard from that three-way match-up:
