Indiana State Road 7 in Dupont to be Closed for a Month

June 15, 2017

The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to close State Road 7 at a culvert replacement site in Dupont in Lancaster Township on or after June 26.

Installation of the 3-sided structure—delayed by utility relocations—calls for a 30-day closure with motorists detoured via S.R. 62, S.R. 256 and S.R. 3.

Milestone, the state’s contractor for this $594,856 2-bridge project, will remove the existing structure and replace it with an 11-foot reinforced concrete culvert measuring 32 feet side-to-side.

A second S.R. 7 structure—located 7.15 miles north of S.R. 250 just south of the Jennings County line—will be replaced in August.

Removal and replacement of the S.R. 7 bridge over Bear Creek will also require a 30-day closure.

The new bridge will measure 20½ feet in length and 32 feet side to side.
