The Southwestern Rebels Boys Baseball team, who themselves faced a shut out last weekend against same county rivals, the Madison Cubs, acted as the former Cubs themselves Wednesday evening as they took on another Jefferson County ball club, the Shawe Hilltoppers, in a five inning competition.
Rebel pitcher Talon Harmon struck out seven batters and as a batman himself, hit a double and got to runs-batted-in as well as scoring himself.
He and his teammates, including Bailey Elliott and Jackson Stockdale, both with doubles themselves, racked up a total of ten hits on this early sunny evening.
Hilltoppping this day did not mean scoring, but there were some hits from Shawe’s Mathew Binzer, however pitcher Brayden Sedam gave up 10 points in total as the lone ball thrower.
Next up, Shawe Memorial plays Switzerland County’s Pacers on their own hilltop diamond at 5PM on Friday and the Rebels play the Henryville Hornets in Clark County on Thursday.
