Ivy Tech Community College, WorkOne Southeast and the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce are partnering to offer the Jefferson County Community Job Fair to connect Ivy Tech students and area residents with local employers and career opportunities.
The Jefferson County Community Job Fair will be from 2 to 6 p.m. April 19 at the Ivy Tech Madison campus (590 Ivy Tech Drive).
2-2:30 p.m. will be reserved for military veterans only to attend and the free job fair will be open to all of the public from 2:30-6 p.m.
Forty area employers from a wide range of economic sectors, including manufacturing, business, information technology, and healthcare, will be on hand to speak with job seekers.
Employers will share their immediate job openings and accept applications and resumes from potential employees.
“Students, alumni, veterans, and other community members who are starting a career, looking to advance in a current path, or explore new professional opportunities are encouraged to attend the Jefferson County Community Job Fair,” said Nina Alcorn, Student Support Services and Career Development Adviser. “This is an excellent opportunity to learn what skills, education, and experiences employers are looking for in prospective employees.”
Individuals searching for employment are encouraged to dress professionally, bring copies of their resume, and be prepared for on-site interview opportunities.
Students desiring help with a resume, interviewing skills, or professional appearance are encouraged to contact the Ivy Tech Career Development office (812-265-2580 x4233) for an appointment, while community members should contact WorkOne (812-265-3734, x226).
