The Jefferson County Republican Party of Indiana is pleased to announce a scholarship of $250 to be awarded to a 2016 high school senior of Jefferson County, Indiana schools, who plans to continue their college or technical education after high school graduation.
Interested applicants should write a one page essay explaining the applicant’s opinion on the
subject of, “Why It Is Important To Vote.”
The essay should be printed in Arial font, 12 font size, double spaced.
The essay should not include the applicant’s name on it, rather the essay should be accompanied by a cover page with the applicant’s name, address, phone number and name of high school, which should be attached to the essay.
Essays will be collected from the schools on Friday, April 29, between noon and 3 p.m.
The winner of the scholarship will be notified via their school contact.
The winner will be invited to attend the 2016 Jefferson County Lincoln Reagan Day Dinner on Friday, May 6, at the Clifty Inn of Clifty Falls State Park, beginning at 6 p.m., where they will be asked to read their winning essay out loud to the attendees, and receive their scholarship award.
