
The Indiana State Police, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, and Hanover Police Department responded to a two vehicle crash on State Road 56 near Hanover, Indiana that claimed the life of a Madison, Indiana man.
The initial investigation by Trp. Matt Holley, Indiana State Police-Versailles Crash Reconstruction Team, determined that a 2003 Honda van being driven by Miko D. McRoy, age 41, Seymour, Indiana was traveling eastbound on State Road 56 near Amber Waves Boulevard. McRoy’s vehicle struck a westbound 2010 Mazda passenger car head-on that was being driven by Dallas Jackson, age 22, Madison, Indiana. At this time, it is unclear which vehicle crossed the centerline first as the vehicles collided in the center of the roadway.
As a result of the collision, Jackson sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. McRoy was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in Jackson’s vehicle, Zachary Kelly, age 21, Lexington, IN was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing to determine which vehicle crossed the centerline. Toxicology results are pending on both drivers.

The Indiana State Police was assisted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Hanover Police Department, Hanover Fire Department, King’s Daughter EMS, and the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
